1985 saw the beginning of Gremaric Border Collies with the purchase of Aust. Ch. Kingscounty Marinah "Marina". Bought as a companion dog she went to her first show as a minor puppy bitch with a first time handler and won Reserve Challenge bitch at a Specialty Show and that was the start of the Gremaric journey. Marina then went on and won Challenge Bitch at Brisbane Royal 1986, Reserve Challenges at Sydney and Canberra Royal over the next couple of years.

She was then joined in 1989 with Aust. Grand Ch. Korella Storm Raider "Storm" who was from Korella's first litter. I thank Korella for such a beautiful dog. Storm won many Best In Show All Breeds and Specialty awards and has given me many wonderful memories not only as a top show dog but also a top sire.

Marina and Storm are the foundation of Gremaric today. That combination produced Aust. Ch. Gremaric Final Impact "Fin" and Aust. Ch. Gremaric Stormeknight both Best in Show Winners.

To bring Marina's lines closer to Storm she was mated to Aust. NZ Joy's Echo of Clan Abby (imp Aust) which resulted in Aust. Ch. Gremaric Class Act "Stella".

Stella to Storm then produced my favourite ever Aust. Grand Ch. Gremaric All Class "Lily" and Aust. Ch. Gremaric Has Class "Lucy" the foundation bitch of Glenlion Kennels owned by Jim and Sue Cook and Gremaric Indian Pacific "Indy" the foundation bitch of Classicyds Border Collies. Stella was very influential in my breeding program she was also mated to Aust. Grand Ch. Borbern Broncos Best "Alfie" and produced Best In Show winning, Aust. Ch. Gremaric Me Myself I "Mimi" the only one puppy in the litter ... hence the name. "Mimi" was an achiever in the whelping box producing Aust Ch Gremaric Natural Grace "Gracie" and the brother/sister duo Grand Ch. Gremaric Cruzin "Cruze" and Grand Ch. Gremaric True Colours "Kasey".

Another daughter of Marina Gremaric Double Exposure ( Sire: Aust. Ch. Nedlands Krackerjak CDX) was mated to her Great Grandfather Aust. Ch. Induru Benjamin Boots and produced Aust. Ch. Gremaric Top Gun "Maverick" an All Breeds Best In Show winner who is the sire of the most awarded Border Collie in Australia Triple Ch. (O) (T) Nahrof Dalwhinnie OC TD ADM ET HT.

In 1997 Ms Debbie Day offered me Aust. Ch. Borderheath Daydreamer to breed with and I took this opportunity to use Aust. Ch. Gremaric Final Impact "Fin" . This combination produced Aust. Ch. Gremaric Gilt Edge "Gil" an All Breeds Best In Show winner, Gremaric In Your Dreams ET "Kaia" owned by Sandra Brennan of Finealta Border Collies and Gremaric Dreamo Albo Pixie CDX "Pixie", a very competitive bitch in the obedience and flyball fields, owned by Rose Richards.

My ever favourite "Lily" won many Best In Show All Breeds and Specialty Shows. She was the first and only border collie bitch to qualify for the Queensland Dog of the Year contest not once but twice, one year joined by her daughter Aust. Jap. Ch. Gremaric Tiger Lily "Tiggy" for Queensland Puppy of the Year Contest. Lily was also the first bitch to have won Best In Show at the BCC of NSW Inc. twice. Her other daughter Aust. Grand Ch. Gremaric All Talk HT ET "Polly" followed in her mother's footsteps to win Best In Show at the 2004 April BCC of NSW Inc Another great win under Specialty judge Mrs Carolyn Ward from the UK.

Lily only had 2 litters before she tragically died and they were both to Aust. Ch. Echovale Great Bear CCD CD HT "Teddy". The first litter produced the very elegant Aust. and Jap. Ch. Gremaric Tiger Lily "Tiggy". "Tiggy" was a Best In Group winner as a puppy and that success continued until she left Gremaric to join Kimiko and Hiroshi Nagaya at Dazzling Bluestar Border Collies. Kimiko and Hiroshi mated "Tiggy" to Aust. Ch. Tambovale Tornado "Hamish" and produced Aust. Grand Ch. and Jap. Ch. Dazzling Bluestar JP A Dreamy Girl "Wendy" and Jap. Ch. Dazzling Bluestar JP Laughy "Laughy".

It was a dream of Kimiko and Hiroshi to have "Tiggy's" daughter "Wendy" return to Australia to compete on her mother's earth and that was fulfilled in June 2005. "Wendy" gained her Australian Champion title in only 2 months of coming to Australia and only 21 months of age. She is Ultra feminine and has the most delightful temperament and I thank Kimiko and Hiroshi for sending me such a beautiful bitch to show.

The repeat mating of Lily and Ted has produced 3 Best In Show winning (2 Grand & 1 Australian) Champions they are Aust. Grand Ch. Gremaric All Talk HT ET "Polly", Aust. Grand Ch. Gremaric Imagery ET "Gerry" and Aust. Ch. Gremaric Masters Stroke HSAs CCD CD "Darcy". It is very satisfying as a breeder to be able to breed show champions and still maintain the herding instinct which is illustrated by these 3 dogs. We believe that Darcy is the first Border Collie male in Australia to be a Show Champion, Best in Show Specialty Winner, achieve the herding title HSAs and obedience titles CCD and CD to date. Congratulations to Peta Ware for training and producing such a lovely dog for Gremaric.

2004 saw the first line bred litter at Gremaric, Aust. Ch. Gremaric Me Myself I "Mimi" to Aust. Grand Ch. Gremaric Imagery ET "Gerry" which has resulted in Aust. Ch. Gremaric Natural Grace "Gracie" who gained her title with ease winning BOB's Challenges, Sweepstakes, and Multi In Group awards under local, interstate & international judges.

In 2006 was the first Border Collie National in Sydney. This event was spectacular to say the least and a credit to the organisers. Hiroshi Nagaya came to visit "Wendy" at this National. Not knowing at the time that this meeting would change life at Gremaric. Hiroshi was certainly captivated with "Wendy's" willingness to show in the ring, and winning a place at the national, made for an enjoyable time with his favourite dog. On his return Hiroshi made contact with me as "Wendy" was due to return to Japan soon after. He said he could see how devoted "Wendy" was to me and he did not have the heart to ask for her return. The only condition was that she stayed with me forever. "Wendy" is now a permanent resident at Gremaric and I thank Hiroshi sincerely for such a beautiful gift. Wendy has gone on to many successes since then winning multiple Best In Show wins, attaining her Grand Champion title, No 1 Border Collie Bitch 2008 (dogzonline), Royal Challenges... her successes are endless!

Now with "Wendy" staying at Gremaric this opened an opportunity for my friends Greg and Kirsty Pearcey in Tasmania. I offered the Pearceys Aust Ch. Gremaric Natural Grace "Gracie" as a showdog, breeding prospect, and a family member. "Gracie" is enjoying life in Tasmania and thanks go to the Pearceys for the wonderful life they have given to "Gracie" and all her wins especially the RU Best In Show win at the 2009 Tasmanian Working Dog Club show under breed specialist, Karen Monk, Maghera Kennels.

2006 also saw the litter which produced the Best In Show winning duo Aust. Grand Ch Gremaric Cruzin "Cruze" and Aust. Grand Ch. Gremaric True Colours "Kasey" ... the youngest brother/sister Border Collie Grand Champions in Australia today. Both dogs gained their Australian Champion title at 12 months of age. "Kasey" gained her Grand Champion title at 26 months and "Cruze" followed a month later. Their results are quite unbelievable to say the least for youngsters. Congratulations and thanks go to Jim & Sue Cook of "Glenlion Kennels" who once again has achieved great success with "Kasey" over the past few years.

2008 was another highlight year for Gremaric gaining 4 Grand Champions with "Gerry", "Cruze", "Kasey" and "Wendy". Qualifying 3 dogs for the Qld Dog of the Year Contest... a first for any kennel! With all dogs winning multiple Best In Show wins during the year, the Toowoomba Royal 2008 win with "Wendy" was certainly a great moment to share with her breeder Hiroshi Nagaya.

In this year of success I bred a litter doubling up on my foundation sire "Storm" using Clanheath Snowedon to Grand Ch. Gremaic All Talk HT ET "Polly" producing Gremaric's latest Champions and multi Best In Show winner Aust. Ch Gremaric Speechless "Issey" (her results speak for themselves!), Aust. Ch. Gremaric Idle Chatter "Slater" owned by Jim & Sue Cook and Aust. Ch. Gremaric Chit Chat "Gossip", owned by Paul and Gail Revell.

It was a quieter year in 2009 for Gremaric due to work commitments however titling "Issey" and qualifying 4 times for the Qld Puppy of the Year Contest was one highlight and the other was winning Best In Show at the 3 Queensland Border Collie Specialty Shows with "Gerry", "Issey", and "Cruze". A very pleasing result!

In February 2010 saw the combination of years of breeding with a litter from Aust. Grand Ch. Gremaric Cruzin "Cruze" and Grand Ch. Gremaric All Talk HT E.T. "Polly". This litter is exciting to say the least as it doubles up on my 2 foundation bitches Aust. Ch. Kingscounty Marinah and Aust. Ch. Gremaric Class Act "Stella" and infuses all the outside male sires I have used over a 23 year period of breeding.

I look forward to campaigning the results of this litter "Gremaric Cruze Control" Woodland and "Gremaric Talk Soon" Gidget in the future and sharing this litter with my good friends Jim & Sue Cook from "Glenlion Kennels" with "Gremaric Top Gear" 'Stig', Paul & Gail Revell with "Gremaric Torque the Torque" 'Bear' and Greg & Kristy Pearcey with "Gremaric Can We Talk" 'Clea'.

Now some 25 years later from purchasing Marina, Gremaric has produced 12 homebred Best In Show winners from only 20 litters, numerous Show Champions, Grand Champions obedience titled dogs, endurance titles and now herding titles. As you will see by my motto "Gremaric Border Collies ... where conformation excels ... movement follows" has been the basis of my breeding Program. I have concentrated on consolidating well bodied, conformed, angulated dogs who as a result of their construction move effortlessly, have sound temperaments and can perform the function they were bred for and that is work. "The results tell the tale."

I hope you enjoy your virtual visit and some day visit Gremaric.
